Runners can be of any age. If you are under 18 you MUST get permission from your parents or Guardian to participate. If you are under 12 you must be accompanied by a responsible adult on the run itself.
The organisers will take all reasonable precautions to provide a safe environment for the race, however, the LDS Sunderland 5k Organising Committee and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accepts no responsibility for any accident, injury, illness, damage or incident that may occur.
Race stewards and marshalls are there for safety and security reasons and all participants must comply with any instructions they receive from them.
By visiting this web site and registering to participate in the LDS Sunderland 5k you accept and agree to abide by the terms of participation.
Sun stroke - it could be a hot day, use sun barrier cream and consider wearing a hat.
First Aid - safety stewards will be on hand over the course to assist you if you need help. There will be a First Aid post based at the starting and finishing point and a St John's Ambulance will be available if you need emergency services.
Help along the way - Race marshals will be positioned at strategic points along the course. They will make sure you stay on the right route and are there to provide assistance if you run into difficulties. Please be considerate to the park and other park users at all times.
Take care near roads and car parks - some vehicles drive very quickly. Please congregate away from the cars and be careful in particular if you have children. If you’re driving to the run, please drive carefully even if you’re late!
When running, take care on uneven surfaces - whether on grass or on tarmac. Watch out for cyclists, other runners, pedestrians, children, wildlife, dogs, vehicles, park maintenance work, falling branches, bollards, posts and other obstacles around the course.
Runners pushing buggies are also welcome, but please take extreme care of other runners around you. If possible start from the back of the field and try to keep to one side of the main body of runners.
If you’re watching, keep clear of runners on the course, and look after any children and dogs you may have with you.
